“Building a club of climate aware youth in Kenya”

LIFE TSOLDIERS HUBS.

A networking platform for indoctrinating young Kenya’s on climate activism and action. The youth are mentored over a period of time to understand the importance of climate resilience and sustainable living, creating a critical base of young climate champions. The platform will be segmented into various age tiers with training curriculum developed to reflect the challenges of sustainable living and also equip them with the critical skills necessary for championing climate action and resilience. The platform is dedicated to drive the living of a full LIFE anchored around experiential events covering education, green shopping, entertainment, green culture and green sports amongst many other activities

THE LIFE PHILOSOPHY TRAINING

Training youngsters on the LIFE’s basic building blocks, blocks that drive sustainable living with focus on understanding the key elements and cycles of sustainable life

Building a core group of Young community champions and future policy makers knowledgeable in the areas of sustainable living from the basic to its various complexities with background knowledge of climate change impacts on rural communities with pilots in Tsavo. Impacting youth who later in life become the Leadership and decision makers, anchoring the LIFE Campaign for generations to come.

LIFE TOTOZ CHALLENGE

LIFE TOTOZ CLIMATE HUBS will coordinate the youth club’s climate action activities within the hubs catchment and region. These Hubs in the Kenyan Pilot phase have been partitioned into four with a HUB piloting in Kisumu, Nakuru, Nairobi and Mombasa. Hubs will coordinate all training and climate action within a given region while being the link between the Youth hubs and the mentorship programs run under the Life Club Program. Key experiential activities will include but not be limited to exchange visits, Tree growing campaigns and resource mobilisation campaigns.

TOTOZ SPORTS – LIFE TSOLDIERS

The TOTOZ HUBS will run various sports activities for members of the clubs. The activities these clubs will include mentorship on eco-tourism as well as training and competitions in various sports activities. Some of the sports envisioned are 

TsavoFutta – an under 13 mixed gender soccer tournament held annually within the Tsavo Landscape

TsavoHoops – A under 13 mixed gender basketball extravaganza held annually with the Tsavo Landscape 

TsavoSports Camps – Quarterly sports camps for members of the clubs held annually in various parts of the landscape

LIFE RESTORATION HUBS

LIFE RESTORATION HUBS will be set up in all the regions of the Tsavo Landscape, the hubs will host youth for durations of TWO to THREE Months per cycle. The Volunteers will undertake extensive conservation work during the morning house and be trained in specific life skills during the evenings. This camps will be for the Tsavo ToToZ Clubs with an age profile of 19 to 25 years. The camps will run for free and will be fully residential with participants only offering their voluntary services. Training on life skills will cover a wide range of subjects and involve mentorship programs by established industry leaders and organisations. 

Each Cohort will be themed differently to ensure the hubs attract as wide a range of participants as is physically possible and will at all times be multi-gender in composition and approach. A major target for the hubs will be youth doing their university or college breaks.

Eligibility 

To be eligible members Membership to the Life club is by invitation only with applicants committing to drive climate action and sustainable living progressively within their action and lifestyle. The participants must commit to living a carbon neutral lifestyle at their individual levels.

Membership is restricted to age categories with 5 years being the entry level for Full Members and 35 years being the membership age cap. The Clubs are a open to membership from across the world.
