Explore Narok
Named after, Enkare Narok, the river flowing through Narok town. The county has a robust ecological system that residents depend on for agriculture, tourism, water and many other benefits. The best time of year to visit Narok for warm-weather activities is from December to March.
Narok Adventures
Being home to the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve, means that Narok County is at the very heart of one of the “seven Wonder of the World”, the Great Wildebeest Migration. Adventures in Narok County also include hiking, bird watching and game drives.
Dance, Eating & Drinking
It is most advised to dine at the local restaurants here to get a taste of really great nyama choma and local delicacies among the Maa people such as mnono (cooked blood from the animals). But there are also restaurants that serve continental cuisine.
What to See and Do
Narok offers many parks and reserves that you can go to, to on game drives. Masaai Mara Game Park, Enonkishu Conservancy and the Mara Naboisho Conservancy are great for game drives. One can also go on a Hot Air Balloon adventure in Maasai Mara National Reserve. You can Watch the remarkable wildebeest migration in Maasai Mara. You can go hiking at Mount Suswa Conservancy or visit the Olare Orok Conservancy and see the Ntiakitiak Gorge. The Narok museum is a great place to educate oneself about the Maa people or you can stay at the Ololaimutiek Village for a more authentic experience.

How to Get Around
There are two ways to get from Nairobi to Narok. The scenic route is by road which takes approximately 2 hours to Narok town. The alternative is by air which take approximately an hour to Ol Seki airstrip from Wilson airport, Nairobi. The best and most convenient way to travel throughout the County is by 4by4 vehicles due to the general terrain in the outskirts of the town and the parks.
