Taita-Taveta County lies approximately 200 km northwest of Mombasa and 360 km southeast of Nairobi. Taita-Taveta is within Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks and is occupied by ranches, sisal estates, water bodies such as Lakes Chala and Jipe in Taveta and mzima springs, and the hilltop forests.
Taita-Taveta County lies approximately 200 km northwest of Mombasa and 360 km southeast of Nairobi. Taita-Taveta is within Tsavo East and Tsavo West National Parks and is occupied by ranches, sisal estates, water bodies such as Lakes Chala and Jipe in Taveta and mzima springs, and the hilltop forests. The main land use in ranch is cattle grazing. The three operating sisal estates of the district are the Teita Sisal Estate, Voi Sisal Estate and Taveta Sisal Estate. Many ranches utilize also wildlife tourism and conservation. The Taita Hills forest hold a unique biodiversity with 13 taxa of plants and 9 taxa of animals found only in the Taita Hills and nowhere else in the world. In addition, 22 plant species found in the Taita Hills forests are typical of the Eastern arc forests.

Taita Taveta County is one of the last remaining real Kenyan wilderness areas. The county is unique in that 62% of its total area is part of the Tsavo East and West. It is one of the largest national parks in the world. This adventure will take you across Tsavo West National Park and the adjacent Lumo Wildlife & Taita Conservancy.

Mzima springs is one of the most beautiful attraction in Tsavo West. The park is rather dry and Mzima Springs is like an Oasis. Unfortunately, you can’t swim because the springs hosts crocodiles and Hippos
Lake Jipe straddles on the border of Kenya and Tanzania. If you happen to take a boat ride on Lake Jipe, you will cross over into Tanzania without getting your passport stamped. If you love camping and nature, you can choose to camp on the shore of Lake Jipe inside Tsavo West National park. You will have these mountains as your backdrop and you might see the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro from a distance.
Lake Chala like Jipe is also shared between Kenya and Tanzania. It is a gorgeous crater lake! Lake Chala is absolutely beautiful with zero tourists.
Other things to do while in Taita Taveta are: Visiting Grogon Castle, Hiking at Taita Hills which includes camping option, Visit to Aruba dam, a watering hole for wildlife like Elephants, See the longest lava flow in the world that is Yatta plateau, See Lugard Falls, A visit to Ngutuni wildlife conservancy near Tsavo East and least but not last Camping at Lumo Community Wildlife Sanctuary.
DANCE, EATING AND DRINKING
Taita Taveta is also one of the counties with a vibrant night life. Over the years, Voi has earned a reputation of being one of the most active night hubs in the Coastal region. Located along the busy Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, Voi town has over the years carved a niche for herself as a ‘town that never sleeps’. The town has an informal 24-hour economy courtesy of the non-ending streams of passenger and cargo vehicles that pass through it. The night activities supported several night clubs, lodgings, hotels, bars, coffee sellers and taxi drivers who provided support services for these vehicles.

Taita Taveta is flooded with some of the best hotels being a hot tourist attraction. Some of these hotels are: Finch Hattons Luxury Tented Camp, Severin Safari Camp, Satao Camp, H12 Kipalo Hills Camp and Sarova Taita Hills Game Lodge among others.
HOW TO GET AROUND
Taita Taveta is one of the town’s stops the Nairobi- Mombasa SGR passes. This has made transport much easier for tourists where one can access a taxi once at the VOI Terminus.
